A friend long before his affliction

Roses are Red,
Violets are blue,
I have Alzheimer’s,
whose is this cheese on toast?

I can post this because I know someone with Alzheimer’s disease and whilst painful beyond the extreme he makes himself laugh with his own statements sometimes, although these are not his words I am positive he shares the sentiment. He is not brave in adversity, he is my friend and I love him for more reasons than his affliction.
