Stormy Weather

I sit in the rays of the sun
and try to touch the prism
that colours my heart and hand;

then clouds dim the light
and overshadow the dreams
for our life I had planned.

  1. Hello. Has it ever happened in your life to feel like you feel now, but at an easier, lower level? The feeling that you’ll never overcome your sadness. That it will never get better.

    Doesn’t it always get better? You have no idea how strong you are until you realize that it got better. Sorry if I’m not making sense, it’s late here.

    • I may live alone but I am not lonely. I believe what you dwell on you dwell in, sadness is part of life.

      I agree you do have to look back to see how far you have travelled, if you are climbing a mountain and are focussed entirely on the summit then you will miss the beautiful scenery that surrounds you on your journey to the top.

      Ive been trying to write this email for 50 minutes now and I can’t work out if it is a “literary” question or a “philosophical” question or something more serious, if it is more serious I am not qualified to answer your question and I urge you to ask someone who can offer real help.

      If I am over-reacting or misunderstanding your question then my personal sadness is ending one poem at a time. Dave
