Close to You

Party of One

From the corner of the room
where even the shadows hide from themselves,
along with the remains of the day
and everything worth saying, I stand
as close as the paper to the wall,
listening to your smile.

Hello, I’m lost for words

Just like the bus
I missed  the other day
when I was staring at
her smile;
I missed another one
this morning
when I spotted her from
3 miles;

It was raining
but I didn’t really care;
even though I looked Like
Hitler with my rain-soaked
greasy hair;

I lost my job last week
for standing in the same spot
at the bus stop,
just to see her,
just to tell her;

“Hello. I’m lost.
I from saw you
there over
you me made
English language word learned
every I forgot.”

Stop smiling please

Half of one second
in your line of sight
and I forget
stop smiling woman,
I can’t concentrate!

A few comments I posted on a Facebook friends page when she was facing a fashion crisis of epic magnitude,

“The woman whose smile is open and whose expression is glad has the lustre of beauty no matter what she wears”.

Words by Anne Rophie, sentiment by by D, Archer, small fat bloke.

“Brush your teeth, your smile is enough” by D, Archer, small fat bloke.

“No stage light could ever fill the room as much as your smile”. by D, Archer, small fat bloke.

“Take your shoes and socks off, walk in the grass, a mirror is but a reflected image, your smile is the reflection of your soul”. by D, Archer, small fat bloke.

Here endeth the lesson.

Never close your eyes

Seldom is the woman of your dreams
next to you
when you wake up
and if she is,
never close your eyes again
in case you miss
the look of love.
